How wonderful that we can anticipate another year with friends, with families, and most of all, with the Lord. We are alive and here, and that means that God has a purpose for my life if I am His child through faith in Christ. I may not know all that the year will bring - but I know Him who knows all things. How blessed it is to rest in knowing from the Word of God that He doeth all things well. If this year brings joy and prosperity, it is because of His grace. If this year brings heartache, He too is touched with my grief and He makes provision for me to go through the trials of life, ever caring for me, His child. Every morning the Lord renews my blessings, great is His faithfulness. The prophet Jeremiah wrote --
...“This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. The LORD'S loving kindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Thy faithfulness. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him." The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him.”(Lam 3:21-25 NASB)
So as we enter another year, let us join the Psalmist in saying --
... “Thou hast crowned the year with Thy bounty, and Thy paths drip with fatness.”(Ps 65:11)
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
(Ps 23:6)
You have blessed me beyond measure
With the measure of your grace
You have bestowed upon me a love that
Time cannot touch
There is nothing in my imagination that
Offers an inkling of the thought to the
Magnitude of your precious love
